So below are photos from day 2 in Bangkok!
Day 2, we went to visit temples and the famous Grand Palace. There's plenty of temples around that area including sleeping Buddha. Grand palace was our reason for going there. Upon arrival, we were approached by a guy who looked quite decent and told us that the palace was under maintenance and will be available in the afternoon. I trusted him and allowed him to lead us to took a boat to visit another temple(Wat Arun- the place I planned to visit as well). An evil old lady approached me and recommended a package to us for a tour in a boat around the river. The package included of a tour to Wat Arun, boat market and two other places which I have forgotten. The price she offered initially was quite pricey at around 1200 THB per person which then reduced to 700 THB per person. She told me the tour to Wat Arun alone need around 500 THB. So I thought why not add on another 200 THB so we can tour around the river and visit the floating market. Guess what, 3 of us paid a total of RM 210 for an hour and a half journey along a dirty, muddy and smelly river. The floating market? Which I thought it would look like the one in the picture below and the photo she showed us turned out to be a market with only FOUR BOATS. The boat man thought we were stupid. He showed us to a crocodile which was in fact, an alligator. Worst of all, Wat Arun was just opposite of the place we took the boat and required only 30 THB to reach there. Seriously, what the hell?!
That's why, never trust anyone easily. The story did not end here. After visiting Wat Arun and the so called floating market, it was time to visit the grand palace. There, we walk from the jetty to the grand palace. We were approached by a guy again who looked decent as well and told us that it was lunch hour and therefore we cannot enter yet. We fell into the trap again. T.T He recommended us to visit sleeping buddha temple and other places by TukTuk with only around 40 THB. So cheap right. So we agreed on the tour. The TukTuk driver which he recommended appeared so nice and agreed with the price to bring us to the temples. Halfway there, the TukTuk driver stopped by the side suddenly and asked if we wanted to go to jewellery shops or not. We rejected and he asked us to got down halfway. Lucky enough, it was within a walking distance to the Grand palace.
Finally, we reached Grand palace. Guess what again, Grand palace was opened from 10 am to around 5 pm. There was neither maintenance nor lunch hour. We were so angry in the end and never visited the temple because need to pay around 450 THB per person. We just walked outside of the grand palace and took photos. Conclusion, never trust those people who approached you. Never with good intention or they are up to something!
Still furious looking at the photos. Hahahaha. Never mind, lesson learnt! =)
Every morning, we will walk along the market which is right outside of the place we stayed. I settled my daily breakfast and cup of coffee here. You can find foods, fruits, groceries and cloths here!
Love this blur and dreamy effect cause by the water vapour on my lens. Too cold the air-cond. |
